I responded to several calls had the victim had a means of self defense, the outcome would have been very different. When we finally hear all the details on the Zimmerman case then we can make a determination as to what really happened. I carried for 15 years with a badge and now carry with a permit. I have to agree with a previous post. When seconds counts, the police are just minutes away. This I know from experience. Good common sense and good training are the requirement. Safe travels all.
Nice to hear from a voice of experience. Thanks for your post and insight from a police officers eyes.

I have a concealed permit. When I'm in the mountains fishing or hiking, I carry a 40 caliber, otherwise, I have a 380 concealed. When traveling, it's right next to me in the truck. It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.
Thank you 2nd Amendment.
I keep a copy of "Traveler's Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States" by J.Scott Kappas, Esq. Good reading.

Is this site for campers? Not feeling it here on this thread. Moderators: Do your job and shut this thread down. I'm highly offended by numerous comments on both sides of the argument.

Let's see Ruger 380 in the cab. Browning 20 gauge in the trailer by the door. S & W 357 by the bed in the 5th wheel. Oh ,and a little Remington 22 in the daypack just for fun. Oops, 300 Savage on the gun rack, just in case. I guess that will do it. All loaded of course.

God Bless America!

Agreed. The few good points for and against have been made. No longer entertaining. Shut it down.

OK - folks, we're done. This is an RV site.

There's no need to get huffy with other members regarding ANYTHING - especially gun topics. Let's stick to RV related discussions
