The scam going around here is someone calls a business. It's usually a restaurant and they'll call around 5pm on a Friday night, just as their "rush hour" starts. The caller will tell the owner he's from the power company and his bill is late and if he doesn't pay right away, they're going to turn his power off in the middle of his Friday night business.
What gives it away is that they'll tell the business owner to go down to local CVS and buy some kind of debit card in the amount they say he owes, and then give them the number.
