We use propane (120 gal tank) for cooking and hot water. Had a "grill connection" installed and now we never run out of gas.

black and Decker circular saw this is 20v (batteries separate) 5 1/2" blade

My preference would be the craftsman corded if going to be used most at home

I would get the Craftsman for several reasons:

1. Craftsman has always been my first choice in tools of all types.

2. Sears has multiple stores that can return a tool to for any reason and their return policy is great.

3. This Craftsman is corded, eliminating the need for batteries and is lighter than a battery powered one.

I vote for corded one. I had a battery one but as mentioned the batteries finally failed and now they aren't available to buy. Paperweight

I like the bigger size blade- it'll help for cutting thicker materials. Though, I greatly prefer my cordless tools- they're just less cumbersome to work with. I'd still opt for the bigger bladed one.

although there are several brands and styles this one is inexpensive.

Not sure if link works but on sears website you type in circular saw guide and should be able to find it.

Cool! I have a hand-me-down Black and Decker set similar to that. I'm quite happy with mine. I hope he likes it and you get your storage shelves!

Even tho' I have 4 cordless Craftsman 18.2 drills and 5 batteries for them, the batteries just don't last that long, so today I bought one of these which come with 2 batteries to replace the Craftsman I keep in the camper.

Shop DEWALT 20-Volt Max 1/2-in Cordless Drill with Soft Case at Lowes.com

I agree that the Craftsman do not last long and I too purchased the Dewalt 20V last year and love it. Lighter than Sears and batter lasts alot longer. They have deals at Lowes for $99.00

I have almost every woodworking tool you could ask for and I'm sure he will appreciate whatever you got him especially if he knows how much thought you put into it. No matter what tool a guy will find a reason he needs it.

Pretty good. I knocked a few people of my Christmas list. DH got this ryobi set. I managed a cashmere pashmina for my sister for $25 (regularly close to $100). My DMIL and one DBIL are taken care of as well. DH got my gift too. Not bad for one evening of shopping, especially since I dedicated a lot of time over several days trying to figure out DHs gift.
