I am into scale (really scale) 1/10 RC 4x4 trucks and love to take them with when we camp. Jeeps, Bronco, pickups etc. Really fun to run around in the sand at Lake Michigan. Great scale picture opportunities too - one of my other hobbies.
Here's a pic of one of my creations that is a real hit when I drive it around the campground. The trailer is scratch built and 34" long.

Fully finished interior too

It's not knitting and such, but still fun
We are in awe over this trailer model you built. I showed it to my guys at the shop and they keep coming back to my office to get another look at it. If you have any more pics, we would really like to see them. This is just cool to the Nth degree.

Some of my hobbies are camping with my friends, telling jokes, studying anything related to World War II, and benchmarking

I have computerized my movie and TV series collection and carry it with us when we travel.

I like to read and always seem to have more books and files lined up than I have time to read them.

I like to pre-plan "On the Road" mods and work on the camper when "in camp" for any length of time.
Lou - I collect certain aviation books, military and civil. Will you be publishing your book when finished?

I've given it up now, but for about 20+ years I was a baseball/softball umpire, football and basketball official. I worked high school, American Legion, and small college baseball, along with high school in the other sports.

The highlight was when a lady who worked for me got me together with former Cubs catcher Randy Hundley. For 12 years I provided the umpire crew for Randy's Fantasy Baseball Camps when they came to Busch Stadium. I got to work games played by folks I'd grown up watching -- Bob Gibson, Lou Brock, Curt Flood, Al Hrabosky, and other Cardinal greats, along with Joe Pepitone, Ferguson Jenkins, Randy Hundley and his son Todd, who also later became a major league catcher, and many more.

Great times then, great memories now!

Growing up in St. Louis, baseball isn't really a hobby for me. It's a way of life.

i dont think any other major league baseball town supports the home team as much as st louis fans do. i bet bob has some great stories to tell. i cant tell you how many times i have heard mike shannon (former cardinal player and now radio announcer) say ... "thats a story best left for off the air".

The only things I miss about St. Louis are my folks and the baseball. The weather and need for a beach drove me away. Of course, the last time we took a vacation to visit, we got both snow and tornadoes. A subtle reminder of why I left!

When I was a kid and my parents took us tent camping, I remember falling asleep to Jack and Mike's voices.

I take along my Nook, the multi lensed Nikon and a sketchpad. My pottery art is whimsy, inspired by nature & I like to capture the idea as it hits me otherwise I'd lack the recall to create it later when back at the studio.

Have no hobbies other than people watching and drinking a cold beverage. I do bring the RC to play around with.

I like to ride horses but don't get the time for it much now that I'm a mom. I used to compete the horses and even spent a summer as a wrangler on a dude ranch.

DH will tell you I'm addicted to my forums since I spend so much time on them. I actually spent a weekend camping with no WiFi and had left my phone at home by accident so no internet access. DH didn't let me near his phone. At first it drove me nuts and then I actually enjoyed the serenity. Hmmm. Maybe I need to unplug more often.

My biggest activity is my DD. Camping helps me enjoy spending time with her even more.

Garden tractors, and all things L&G I like to buy old broken ones and fix them up to go to the local consignment auctions a couple times a year. It is alot cheaper than playing with my 1980 460 powered Fox Cougar that I built years ago and is now sitting in the field by the garage. I do everyting from the engine rebuilds to making new parts for them. I love smashing knuckles etc as it is so far removed from my daily work.

Thanks for the feedback.
This rig is too fun at camp. I have a youtube vid if it running at camp in Pentwater, MI. last summer. The kids freaked me out though - never know what they will do.

I don't want to litter up this thread with a bunch of pics, but If you're interested, the link below is a (long) build thread I posted while building the truck and trailer.

I used to golf. Then my 2nd DD got into softball. I coached the past 4 years but have retired from that. She now gets to play without being the coaches daughter. Our 3rd DD is just starting at 10U. We will be at tournaments from the 2nd weekend of April until the 3rd weekend of July. But wouldn't pass it up for anything.

Our camping is going to be around those tournaments most years and then a few late summer stays at the local state park. During the cold months we, girls, dogs and I hunt pheasant and quail, or at least walk around looking for them.

I miss golf my DW misses it more as that used to be our summer date nights. But we will have time for that when the kids are grown.

Yeah, but how are you at backing it up into tight places?

That's easily one of the coolest things I've seen in a LONG time. Nicely done!
