Just wondered if anyone else has had this happen........
On the way to parking the RV, it was a little windy. Trees were blowing around and the RV was a bit of a handful........aerodynamics of a brick, wadda ya expect?
Once I was stopped, I went to get out of the RV, opened the door, and the wind tore it completely out of my hand. Pulled so strong it popped the gas strut off the door mount and bent the piston rod. It's actually a rather ingenious design of plastic and small metal clips that attach the two ends of the door strut. After some minor repairs and some straightening, all is as it was.
The handle on our door is really not much more than a place to hook a few fingers. Anyone else been caught off guard as to the wind's ability to grab the door and take it from your grip?????
Next time it's not dead calm.........grab on tight!!!!!!!!!
