I have been around for 60+ years, and had never heard that term before the last week or so. Now, that is included on every weather report.

Warmed up a little bit here , 18 F, but all around here they have been getting hammered with show, all the ice from ice storm 2 weeks ago is off trailer now replaced with snow. Not a lot of snow at my house but less than 10 min away 2 ft over night and about 20 min away claiming 4 ft. 50 miles of interstate 81 in New York is closed from Canadian border to almost Syracuse, north and south bound lanes. Wind is blowing in all directions and making visibility 0 on highways.

As for the Joke part of this thread ok but its not funny anymore, let this joke mother nature has on us every year end already, starting to think like Jack Nicholson in the Shinning. Biggest joke will be in 9 months when they have a lot of new babies being born about October.

That fact was confirmed after the New York City blackout of several years ago.

October is most common birth month, and the 5th was most common date several years back. That's my birthday. I read all this in one of those "day is history" booklets.

I have three siblings with October birthdays, 2 years apart from each other. Go figure. Guess new years eve was popular around the old home place. ;*)

Holy Cow- us folks on Canada's West Coast are ever so lucky.

We watch the news ( US and Canadian) and see the" Polar Vortex" and its effects o the East and mid West.

We have no snow, it is hovering around 4 degrees Celcius or around 45 F.\Partner was golfing today but they quit after 12 holes as the course was way too wet.

Good luck to all

Right now; 49 degrees/20% chance of rain

Tomorrow; 64 degrees/30% chance of rain

Maybe we Southerners raised enough hell down here we warmed things up.
