That's very cool. Please tell us more about how it works. Is it basically an RC plane with a camera? Or do you add your own camera? Can you change camera settings in flight? Thanks.

Here is a link to the one I'm using... all pictures were taken with a go pro 3+
DJI | Phantom 2
I also added a first person view transmitter so i can see the cockpit view while flying... this particular one has almost a mile range...

That puppy is too cool !!!
If I had some extra money laying around collecting dust, I would be flying 1 of those.
My financial advisor (DW) thinks I have too many toys now.

Neat!
Now all you need to do is put a high power laser pointer on it and use it to buzz the noisy camping neighbors.

My brother in law owns the first generation DJI Phantom model. I think more and more people will be incorporating these into their vacations and how they document their trips. Just think of how few people owned cameras and camcorders not that many years ago and now you can film, edit and send pictures/video to people right on your phone!
My brother in law will be taking his on his adventures and making some of the most amazing home videos no doubt. Here are a couple of videos others have posted showcasing some of the things you can do with them. One guy took his into the everglades in Florida while they took a tour with airboats. He controlled it right from one of the airboats. The other video is of the aerial lift bridge in Duluth MN.
As for price go on Amazon and look up DJI Phantom. You can score the first generation for under $500 and the latest release for under $900. You can attach a Go Pro Camera for $200 - $300 or the new DJI Phantom II can be bundled with a camera that is just as good as the Go Pro.

Great shots Bojo!
I'd like to see all campground Owners use this type of videoing to post on their websites so you can get a better feel for their property layout & aesthetics.

I have two friends that use drones professionally. One is a videographer who first hired one to fly a GoPro to document a corporate event. His clients liked the video so much he bought a drone for his company. The other is in security and uses the drone to take aerial video to look for vulnerabilities in the perimeter security at various facilities. They program a drone to fly a survey pattern then return home. They both used professional grade quad-copters, I believe.

I forgot to say thank you to Bojo for posting the pics. Thank you! Good job. Practice Practice Practice! If you end up posting videos on youtube let me know so I can see some of your work.
Cajun...Great minds think alike! I would absolutely love to see more campground reviews with this element involved. Maybe we are the only two people who would care but I for one would find it very helpful. When I travel to a new destination I do lots of research that includes googling images nearby, doing streetview, reading thru blogs, and scouring youtube. I would love to do this myself and am planning on it but the $1000 is already spent for this camping season on other items.

That would be a really great way for a campground to show off. Good service for their campers so they would see what the CG is like plus I bet they drive in more business.
Personally - I really need to look at one of these things. Two places we camp at regularly are on bluffs (Devils Lake and Peninsula SP's). It'd be a real hoot to shoot some video from that high.

The NPS does not allow air boats in Everglades National Park, for good reason. Just wanted to make that point here. That footage must have been land near the park.

Very cool shots. That thing looks like it gets some height to it in one of the shots. Will be nice to see some campsite shots.

Funny thing about max altitudes (among others) is that you only find out what it is by exceeding it.
