I got stuck at my inlaws for an extra night due to the weather. My father-in-law went out of town so I shoveled the driveway, sidewalks, cleared the cars off and moved them all into the driveway so the plows can do their thing. Everything went well- I was a hero; huzzah!

Except when I went this morning to the truck to get it recleared of ice...









Apparently I put my window down to see my mirror better while jockeying the 3 cars into the driveway.

151 proof dark Lamb's Navy rum will make that disappear....after having a few but only lasts for a few hours and you might end up with a headache. With your short term memory you might not remember why you have a headache tho'.

I think you should complain to Dodge, for not having "wet" sensors in the seats that automatically roll the windows up in case of rain/sheet/snow.

So far. Fortunately the ice wasn't thick - I was able to crack it and wipe away most of it. My concern is the residual and it melting down into the electronics.

lol. That's a bummer. I have the same truck but cloth. The leather will easier to scrap the ice off. Or turn on the seat heater with a towel on it.

Fortunately it wasn't too thick- I was able to pop the majority of it off. It's the ice that I can't see that worries me with the plethora of electronics in the door and seat...

While not quite as nice as moisture sensors, this is possible and I have installed a few of these before. When doors are locked via a key fob, power windows can be actuated to roll up. These can also be activated on a timer so that something like 90 seconds after the engine turns off, the doors will lock, windows will roll up (and sunroof will close), and alarm will arm. Pretty slick!

As for the moisture impacting electronics in your truck based on those pics, you should be fine.....I've seen much worse with rain.

The door electronics should be good. Mostly just switches that are weather resistant.
The power seat controls may have a little personality to them now either not working every time or pushing the passenger towards the windshield for no apparent reason. You may want to see about getting it serviced if that happens.

Usually I swear a few times and if it is a real bummer I kick something inanimate so then the pain in my foot distracts me.

I wonder if getting the truck inside an enclosed garage, doors open, and high heat for a day or so might dry it out before rust can kick in. Maybe a ceramic heater under the open door door so rising heat can evaporate the moisture.
