24 or so, years ago I had decided to join AOL. The internet was still in it's infancy at the time and screen names were a fairly new concept. AOL wanted a screen name and I couldn't come up with anything, (imagine that).
I was installing a rollbar in a new Miata at the time and so lacking much imagination, called myself Rollbar. Years later when I was playing on line strategic war games with a clan; single syllable names were easier to communicate in combat situations and so I shortened it to Roll.
This was in the late nineties long before Roll became a household name following the events of September 11th.
Gary aka Roll aka Rollbar

The CodeRider moniker was given me when I was leading a software development team and they realized I was riding my motorcycle to work everyday (and riding their butts about getting the code written).
Pretty simple and has stuck for the last 10+ years at work and in he motorcycle community.
