If you had a choice

Would it be red beans and pone or pone and red beans?

Beats me, I don't even know what pone is. Doesn't matter though, since it's Red Beans my DW ain't gonna let me eat it.

Thanks for the culinary education. I had never heard of pone prior to your post.

You should look it up and give it a try sometime, it's pretty easy, not a lot of time involved. You don't have to fry it either....you can bake it. That is if you like cornbread

Grew up with it .....my Grandmother made the best pone in the world as far as I am concerned.

My wife and I both love cornbread so we'll have to give it a try. I know I won't get the red beans though.

I had heard of corn pone - never realized it was corn bread.
I'd choose pone and 2 alarm chili (it is breakfast time, save the three alarm for lunch).

Or you could go with option 3;

Hamburger Corn-Pone Pie Recipe | Yummly

LOVE this stuff! It's a meal-in-a-dish.

(I add Mexican style corn to mine)

TOWTA has a pot of navy beans & will make pone for lunch today. Oldest son will be over welding on awning pole pads and loves bean and pone. She does cook them upside down so you belch instead of -------.

One of my Grandmothers use to say she 'rolled the beans' so they wouldn't affect you
