Leftyneil, on the bottom left of the video page itself you see a link to "Download as an mp3 or mp4". Hope that helped!

Just a kid, born in January of 1950, but other than the battle of words between the US and Russia, it was a great time to be alive. Communities were closer, kids actually played outside, etc.....

It began to go down hill in the sixties. Back then, even though I didn't realize all the details, I didn't like where it seemed to be going.

But on the flip side, if you can ignore the noise on the outside, we still have it pretty good. Just some folks out there who think we don't deserve it.

50s was good years

I can remember flour bags (small) being dropped during WW11 at night to
see if you house was blacked out enough so the pilots could not see your house to hit it, this happened along the coast of Panama City Fla. Also gas, sugar & food ration stamps during the war. This was when I first saw milk in paper cartons also.

Now that is going back!

I seem to remember that the fifties were pretty complicated too....remember the nuclear drills in school where you had to crawl under your desk and tuck your head between your knees? They were simpler in one respect tho - there were a lot LESS choices you had to make to get thru the day.....

I recognized most things and I was born in 62. (And I'm doubtful Ralph Cramdens The Honeymooners was in color then)

Since you didn't grow up then, you have no idea why it was a better time.
