I'd like to introduce Hippy Jippy Junior. He's a male Winter White dwarf hamster and our first family pet. I'm a systems integration engineer, so I saw an opportunity to track the miles he runs each night.
During a recent Hour of Code challenge, my daughters and I made the electronics and coded a Raspberry PI to keep track of Hippy's exercise. I realized my OpenHab2 could easily read this information and automate posts to twitter.
Then, the darn thing started
running 10-12 MILES A NIGHT!!!. So from there, we go over the top.
