Irving oil in New Brunswick CAnada second largest refinery on the east coast jacked our price by 10 cents a litre. Times that by 4.54 to get a gallon and you'll get a 45. 4 cent a gallon increase over night. Regular gas is 1.379 a litre this morning.
What is it in Cal.?

I just noticed on an Internet search for lowest prices there are some gas stations in the $4.39 - $4.59 range. I have my reasons but I stick to two large brand and therefore pay more at the pump.

4.54 gives you an imperial gallon... also better MPG
3.785 will give you a US gallon

Diesel here is 1.14 a litre or 4.31

Regular unleaded for Chervon and Union 76 is $4.69 per gallon in my area (Inland Imperial). Prices are less at the smaller brands gas stations.

Yeah, ours up too. Nearly the highest it's ever been. What's up with this? It's not even "summer driving season"

Lack of oil and oil prices is not the problem in fact demand for gas is dropping. The main reason is the refinery's are all running at peek production and if one breaks down you get what's happening in Cali. The last refinery built in the US was back in 1976 and the current refinery's can't keep up.

Last year here in Alberta one of our 3 diesel plants went down just before another was set to shut down for a scheduled maintenance(and they did). That left us with one plant producing diesel and the prices shot up

Looks like several reasons according to this.

When we came through Needles, CA on Monday, diesel was $4.999 (that's SO much better than $5.00). I didn't notice the price of gas, since I was still choking on the price of diesel.

Gas Buddy shows diesel from $3.96 to $4.39, and regular unleaded from $3.61 to $3.92 in the Las Vegas area right now (late Friday night).

It's anywhere between 4.39 to 4.79 here and in the smaller towns, it's above $5.00

It's all a grab all for profits and using scare tactics and poor excuses to jack up prices. Plus the media is helping this greedy companies exploit the working American.

NB diesel is 136.9 a litre
The reason it gives us better gas mileage (kmage) is its more fuel.

Unfortunately Calif has some extremely stringent regulations and pollution concerns that drive prices way up. They must be hurting badly.

And Irving Oil's number one spot to export fuel to is ... the state of Calif
