Our son
Our son, Josh is in north Tokyo now in school. He has made it safely from his school to his host's families home, there is no public transportation, electric(where he is) or water. Our last comm was not to worry, but that's what parents do. Our fear is the nuclear reactors possible meltdown, another Chernobyle. We are so saddened by the losses in Japan.

David:
Our son and d-i-l live in Chiba City. He works for Dassault in Tokyo. He was able to send an e-mail from work just after the quake to say they were both OK. A follow-up told us that they'd managed to find each other after the offices were evacuated, using text messages, but had to stay in the city because the trains had been shut down as a safety precaution.
The slept in the lobby of a downtown hotsl and headed home about 06:00 the next morning. Some trains lines hadn't re-started, so they had to improvise and it took about 6 hours to get home rather than their usual 55 minutes.
