It looks old,but the C130 is the only aircraft that uses that type rocket for JATO that I'm aware of.

In our shop storage lot when I was cleaning the other day.
Worked there for 14 yrs an never seen it before.
I'm sure it's been there but no clue why.

Well then never mind about the Angels PR. I thought you might have found it in some field after a FA demo and that would be bad. Those were used for a lot of different things in the past including experiments. The C-130 may be the only thing using them now.

Never was an JATO person,but AFAIK THE C130 is the only recent large military aircraft that uses JATO. The B47 used JATO ( I think then it was called Rocket Assisted Take Off),but those were much larger and entirely gone in 1995.
Also, I'm speaking only of USAF planes.
