Kathy's buck!

My wife Kathy called in this 8-point prime buck to Within 30 yards of her stand in the near pasture last evening! Her first "big boy"!

You must be so proud of your wife. Hunting takes patience and is not for everyone. We all enjoy eating meat at the supermarket but neglect the concept of origin. Beautiful buck.

Great buck! That rack would look good mounted on a wall. Enjoy the eats!

Thanks to all! It's great that my wife not only loves fishing and hunting and traveling; She's also good at everything she does... including putting up with me!

We have 3 deer in the cooler this season. I hang them at 33-34 degrees for 7 days, then we do our own cutting into a few steaks, loin roasts and medallions, ground and stew meat. Scraps are cooked with oats and barley for dog food. Hides go to fly-fishing buddies for the hair. Nothing ever goes to waste.

Loved to hunt. Hated killing anything. My excuse for being a bad shot.

Very nice! My wife got her first deer ever this season. She got a 3x3 on the last day of the season. It was awesome seeing her excitement when it went down.

I am not certain I could convince my wife to hunt. She grew up on a farm in Poland watching her Grandmaother butcher chickens and pigs for Sunday and Holiday dinners, but she admires those families that take pride in feeding themselves humanely. When you see those gawdawful videos of KFC and Butterball it makes you cringe.
Hunters definitely get a bad rap for doing something that is as old as the cavemen.

On the other hand my DW will not travel a mile without her Smith & Wesson by her side knowing that two legged creatures are far more dangerous than four legged predators.I agree.

Congrats on a great buck!

Our firearms deer season opens up the Monday after Thanksgiving, so we'll see how that pans out. My archery season wasn't too impressive so far this year....

Congrats to your wife!!!!!!!!!! You and I know very well that we feel about the same way on every successful hunt as we did on the first one!

It just never goes away! I have to admit that I had to pass on a very good buck last year because I was shaking like a leaf! (Made up for it later on!)

Very nice! Cant wait to get my first Whitetail. One of these years....

On another note. This thread reminds me of another thread that is on an F150 forum I'm on that's dedicated to hunting for those that hunt to share their pictures and to over exaggerate their fishing and hunting adventures Maybe I'll start one?
