Local TV advertising themselves

You know you are turning into a bitter old man, when it bothers the heck out of you because the local channels run ads for the very "program" you are watching... but the clips are old news, weather, disaster clips of recent but past events. When they show them, a bitter old person could think it is breaking news. Is it just me? WT...

It seems prime-time has been doing this for a while, which I also don't understand and don't approve

And every TV newscast begins with "BREAKING NEWS" - to the point that I pretty much completely avoid local TV newscasts...opting to get my news online.

I refuse to watch our local Fox channel. They break up the weather report into 3 segments spaced throughout the entire broadcast to force you to watch the whole thing. Local CBS station gives me the important stuff plus full weather in the first 10 minutes with no commercials.
