Loss of an old beloved friend

We are sad to inform y'all that our dear sweet old Shadow Wood dog,
has crossed the Rainbow Bridge today. (April 9th, 2013 11:30 am)

Ken and I made the very difficult decision to not have her in pain anymore.
She went quietly and painlessly.

The large mass (cancer) in her mouth had gotten so bad
she could hardly eat and was in great pain even on strong pain medications.
She is in a much better place now.

Ken, Sunny Delight and I will her deeply.
However she had brought us all so much love and enjoyment over the years.

We had taken one last camping trip to Florida earlier this month.
Shadow Wood so enjoyed sitting in the sun. She was a great little traveler.

We will remember her happily.
R.I.P. old dog.

Sorry to hear. It's amazing the feelings you can have for a pet.

My sympathies go out to you. We know the feeling. Had to have our poodle of 16 years put down due to cancer and diabetes. Avery tough thing to do, but you are right, they are in a much better place now and not hurting anymore.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. Although I try to be the strong one around the kids and wife to the point they think I don't care, I've mourned the loss, and celebrated the life, of our pets in my quiet time. Celebrate their life!

Here too short, gone too soon - the price we pay for their unconditional love. She will be cradled close in your hearts forever.

Deepest sympathy. Dogs are like toddlers. It's a hard thing to lose one.
We never lose them entirely, though. They always dwell in a special place in our hearts and memories.

we lost our 14 year-old Golden, Zoe, right before Christmas.
she had camped with us all of her life and loved it more than we did.

without her around, the house feels so empty. and we still haven't gone camping yet, even though Spring is our biggest time to camp.

so, know what you're going through and our sympathies are with you and your family.

Sorry for your loss. We lost our Scrappy Doo in Nov last year. Its tough putting them down, but when they are in pain it's best for them.

So sorry to hear of your loss!!

As good parents it is so hard to make that decision.
But she thanks you for your love in not letting her suffer anymore and she is now running through the fields and having a blast while waiting for you

Sorry for your loss. People who aren't "dog" people never understand how much they truly become a family member. You will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Sorry for your loss. We had to make the very difficult decision in January 2012 for our dog of 16 years. We called her our camper dog. Our heart goes out to you.
