Meal Delivery Service
Does anyone use a meal delivery service such as Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, etc? Just looking for reviews. Is it worth it? Thanks!

We use Home Chef and love it. We get three meals a week and it has been great for the year (or more now) that we have been using them. We have even been taking the meals on the road with us to make and we have yet to find a meal that could not be made fairly easily on the road.

Loved the service.
Rather complex recipes. Lots of stuff to prep. Interesting flavors.
About 100% above diy price. But, makes life simple!

Which one did you use?
Yes, I have studied the cost but the VALUE in saving me so much time and wasted food will probably be a savings for us. We are suckers for convenience. I'll lay out something to cook, then life happens, and 4 days later I'm throwing out $10 worth of meat. And this happens ALL THE TIME. Our eating out bill is astronomical.
I'm concerned about small portions. Some reviews I've read says meals for 2 really are like 3 servings (lunch next day yay!) But I wanted to hear from some experience.

The serving size for two for us is enough. I wish it gave a bit more for left overs but it is typically a good meal for two and we take a bit off for our 6 year old daughter.

My wife is an excellent cook and shopper, so we have not been able to justify the exorbitant cost of these services and have not tried them. In fact, we spend less dining out, than most of these services.

We used Plated.
In general the serving size was good.
Seldom any leftovers.
More than adequate.
Only issue for us is the materials are fresh. We had to cook them fairly quickly. Pretty much three days in a row.
Kroger sells these type of meals for less however they are simpler, and not as good. Easier prep.

Amen on the high cost.
My Son and his Girl Friend were putting out almost $100 per week for their "service" which included 3 meals. They still had to shop for the other 4 days of the week. I eat quite well, fancy meals and all, for about half that.
Only benefit I see to the Meal Delivery Services is that one doesn't have to do any thinking or shopping. Of course then you're stuck with what they send you.

We pick what we want. Have a menu if sorts to choose from and if we do not like the meat that is picked, we can swap it out for something else.
