Now every nook and cranny has been check two or ten times. Every drawer, every cabinet, under sofa and recliners for stray objects, dust mopped out and locked down.

She's ready to go to her new, and lucky, owners. She served us so well.

Now it's just a count down...2.5 days to go.

Oh, and I discovered I had *WAY* too many pots and pans in there! sheeesh

Glad it worked out & you had time to go through some of the stuff like the extra pots & pans. Sometimes more work ends up being less work by the time it's all over with.

Like "radio" said, never do things in a hurry. You won't like it when you missed something (with that distance).

Got any updates with your new 5er?

we did it at home. Put it all in totes and boxes. Time to sort things out. No rush to organize things the way you want in the new TT

LOL, I took all the remotes and laid them aside for DH to sort through (there was also the satellite remote).

I do not do electronics well. If the power goes out here every thing flashes 12:00 until he gets home.

moving day

Here's Sweet Wife moving into the trailer when we took delivery in July 2008. We drove from Atlanta to RVWhosalers in Ohio and took all the stuff I had been collecting for 18 months while we shopped for a camper.

It was some degree of trouble but when the dust settled we camped for a week on the way back home. Don't know if I would do that again but it was fun at the time.

We ordered our unit from RV direct and picked it up in Orlando Fl. We live south of Ft Worth Texas, a 1200 mi trip. Our previous 5th wheel was sold a couple of months prior to our trip for the new camper, everything was stacked in the garage. We loaded a U-Haul trailer with what we thought we would need and headed for Orlando. After the PDI we signed papers, pulled the U-Haul next to our new 5th wheel and unloaded and reloaded stacking things anyplace they would fit. Took the U-Haul to there lot and went and hooked up to our new camper. Now four days in our new camper we have things pretty much under control. We will spend a few weeks here in Florida and camp our way back to Texas in the deep south adding another week or two to our trip.

Would we do it again, maybe. My wife did tell me "no more new campers" Heard that before. We do love our new camper and so far can't find a thing to be concerned about.

One thing I had to admit to when unpacking the TT is that I/we never did get actually organized. The pantry was stacked willy nilly. Various and sundry items were stuck in overhead storage just wherever I was closest when I need to put it away.

This time I'm *organizing* to where I know where each thing is as I need it.

Yeah, "let's go look at new RVs, just look, to kill time, yanno?" will be a forbidden phrase for a LONG time after this!

We finally get to pick up our 365SAQB (first 5er) next Saturday. Mostly do to inability to wait we have already emptied the TT of everything we didn't need to tow it 3 miles to the dealer. Also as others have said we wanted to have time to sort through 3 years of collecting and determine what we have/need/use. Oddly enough there was only a small garbage bag of stuff not going to new 5er

Congrats on the new 5er!

26.5 hours til our appointment to pick ours up!

But with our expected temps (19 degrees Monday night) I'm not sure we'll camp in the backyard Saturday night.

It's winterized on the dealer's lot. They'll have to un winterize it for the PDI. Not sure if we'll ask them to re winterize it, or just bring it home, put it on shore power and fire up the fireplace and a little ceramic heater we use.

(they use the non-anti freeze, just blow out the lines winterizing procedure)

OMG OMG OMG!

SHE's HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE!

I just told wmtire in PM, I'm so excited my hide won't hardly hold me!

We were so thrilled when we brought Francis home, but that ain't NUTTIN to what I feel now. She pulled like a DREAM coming home, even with some wicked cross winds.

Now I've got four days before I go back to work. Tomorrow's move in time! Time to add our touch to 'er and make her OURS!

I gotta tell ya though, when DH hooked up to 'er and I backed off to look, I instantly thought, SHE's HUGE! We bought a HONKER! (chuckle) but, once the shock wore off, she's the *purrrrfect* size for us. But she looks *so* tall sitting in the back yard.

DH says that Revolution hitch makes backing 'er in to the drive way is a whole new ballgame.

the dealer let me spend the night. Locked gate. they had a plug in. I moved stuff over right on the lot and spent the night. On my last trade, I was doing this on crutches as I had broken my foot.

Congrats on your new unit! We packed our unit out when we bought new ones. Mainly because our we bought 2 units in Ohio and sold the previous ones ourselves. Both times we traveled to Ohio (Tom Raper and Rv Wholesalers), and both time it was January. We traveled up, hotel for the night, got our unit and direct back home. It was nice to take our time reloading the new unit but I like how DXSMax did her move!

Again congrats on your new unit. Can't wait to see the pictures

I don't know if I can say that. This new fiver has already changed them. On my way to work this morning , about a quarter mile from the shop, I saw them approaching on their way to the dealer. I started honking and waving as we passed, and neither one even gave me a look. I guess being fancy fifth wheel owners, they are now too uppity to associate with me (as I told Weezer in a PM).

All joking aside, congratz on the newer new RV.

(I just got a snarky PM from a Mod whose power has gone to his head... He said I needed to change my sign line since as it stood it made me....ahem...I'll use the word "dishonest".

I said , yes, MISTER MOD, SIR! I'll go change it!

TBH I'm so excited I didn't even think to do that.

EDad she's such a beautiful thing to behold! While the TT was all about glamour and classy bling, this one says "take a deep breath, sit down, kick your shoes off, you're HOME!"

To make the whole day complete, our TX camping friends (family of choice, rather than family by blood...might as well be by blood, yanno) showed up to share the whole experience with us. Then we parked the 5er on the dealer's lot and went out to eat together.

This day absolutely goes into the journal!

OK, here are some pics that Ms Snooty (aka Weezer) sent me of their newest addition.

She has a dealer story that will make you all want to shop there.

Thanks FandRC.

I emailed a couple of pics of the 5er and TV to wmtire. He "says" he'll post 'em for me. We'll see! He thinks, LOL, we snubbed him this morning on the way out of town. Some folks just think they're so important *everyone* is supposed to notice them.

He'd best watch it, or I'll charge him for a tour of it.

wmtire and I/DH are real time friends. His shop is less than a mile from our home.

He's good folks. I can vouch for that.

(Poor DH is *out* in the recliner...huge day, and then a 90 mile trip home, towing a rig type he's never pulled before. 5ers are totally new to us. He handled it like he does every thing else...just get 'er done.)

Yeah, I'm going to post the dealer story down in the review section.
It's gonna be lengthy.
