Mozilla Firefox
I just loaded Mozilla Firefox on my computer. The screen load times, as compared to IE, are tremendously faster. Anyone else have that experience?

I used Firefox for awhile, and really liked it. But it got so there was a problem running it on my computer. I now use Google Chrome, and that seems to do great.

Firefox fan myself... use it on my work and personal computers. My 2nd choice would be Google Chrome. Both are good browsers in my opinion.

I really like Firefox and have used it for years. The add-ons, stability and speed are great.
The only other browser I use is Safari to synch up my iPad bookmarks. But, I bet there is an add-on in Firefox for that, too. I just need to find it.

I tried firefox and it was faster than IE but it would not allow google mail, google adwords or google adsense, some sort of glitch with google, so went back to IE

Yep. I try to steer friends who have problems with IE to Firefox. My wife just pops up IE to print something because Firefox doesn't give her that option. Just on certain things she says. It's a lot faster then IP.

I've been using Google Chrome almost exclusively since it was publicly released and haven't looked back. 98% of my browsing is done in it. The other 2% is work related to make sure our online class content plays in Internet Exploiter and Firefox.

I have used portable Firefox, loaded onto a USB thumbdrive for several years. This way, I can save all my passwords (for sites like Forest River Forums, and a lot of business websites) into Firefox, and have them and all my other settings no matter what computer I am using. Works real well, when going back and forth between a home and work computer.
By using the browser on a thumbdrive, it doesn't leave any traces on the host computer.
I also use the free portable open office this way too.
You can get them, along with all kind of other free programs (including Chrome and Opera) here:
PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB, portable and cloud drives
They have packages already bundled with the most common apps, so you can just download the whole package and have what you want.
Once you get what programs you want downloaded onto a USB drive, and start using it, you'll probably like it as well as I do.
All of the free add-ons for Firefox, is another big plus (like a WYSIWYG editor add-on)

Your welcome Lou. I need to add for our members who don't routinely use a USB drive (or other portable media), you need to get in the habit of safely ejecting the drive....and not just always pull it out when done (unless the computer is powered off). If you don't know how to use the "eject" feature usually located in your computers system tray, portable apps also has one built-in to do this. Here is how:
Always wait until the drive access light has stopped blinking and then click the Eject button in the PortableApps.com Platform or the USB icon in your system tray to 'Safely Remove' your device. Don't just remove it. Just because the application's window is closed doesn't mean the app has fully closed and finished writing to the disk.
I made the mistake of not ejecting a sd card once, and it corrupted a bunch of benchmark pics I had on the card and was copying over.

At a minimum you should also be running the NoScript Add-On in Firefox to prevent bad guys from hijacking your PC. At first it will be a real PIA but after you get it configured you will not notice it being there.

As the support guy for almost 500 radio station websites...I am constantly in IE, Firefox, Chrome and Safari making sure everything works on all the browsers. Love Firefox and Chrome, but Chrome has a bad habit of shutting down for no reason. I've tried everything to prevent that, but it still happens.
As for IE - the ONLY reason I still even mess with that is because it is still the #1 used browser so the majority of our website visitors still use it and I need to make sure things work for them.
IE has lots of problems and it is so hard to build websites compatible for all browsers - primarily because of the IE issues.
