Need Help With Vintage Auto Part

I bought this hood ornament from a vender in Gettysburg PA about 2 years ago at a Greyhound reuion (race dogs) I have very little info about it. I have cheched the Webb and I come up empty. This is what I know: This hood ornament is off of a 1936-1938 Whippet car, It was in production for a short time prior to The Great Depression and never returned. I have seen pictures of some of these cars with hood ornaments, but nothing like the one I have, as far as I know if this info is true this my be the only one of It's kind. I do not know where to go at this point. If there is a member on this great Forum that could help or knows someone that can I would deeply appreciate it. Thanks in advance...

I suspect you have an after market hood ornament or radiator topper.
If you google.com for whippet auto you get several hits including
the Antique car club of America--
http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.ph.../Whippet_Parts
and some photos here--
http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z...-Model-96.aspx

I'm sure if you posted a photo at the AACA.org someone will be able to
tell you if it looks like a whippet hoodie or not.
