Holy smokes, those are some picky neighbors. I really don't understand their beef with it being there, seems they just want something to complain about.

So let me get this straight.
They are not living in that camper; just storing it there.
Yet the slides are open and the smell of dumped sewage and gray water abounds? I think I might be tempted to do more than complain.
Sleeping in the truck? You have got to be kidding me.

If they are living in it that could be an issue, but that didn't seem to be their complaint (except the smell). I took it that they just didn't want to see it on that property. I could be wrong

And did you hear the part about using the services of a nearby RV facility?

Yea, I heard that.
But my "Lie Detector" was screaming.
Sleep in the truck and use the potty at an RV camp some distance away when the camper is right there and opened up is just bogus.
I was born at night; but not LAST night!

When I was trying to extend my driveway I ended up with two different answers from the Zoning and Code Enforcement departments. I called back the guy in Zoning to inquire why the different answers. Turns out Code Enformcement made an error and gave me the thumbs up.
I can store my TT in my driveway within certain requirements. My neighbors are parking their MHs in their driveways which isn't allowed based on RV weight along with other restrictions.

All right, who has driveway camped?
That's not too far off what these "good people" are doing.
Is it?

Just found some of the comments to be questionable. In Judge Judy's words - "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining".

"Driveway camping" I think, implies that there is a house next to your driveway where your camper/RV is parked-- (you know, to plug power into, to run inside when you realize you forgot something, to work the bugs out of your camper before you take it down the road to the next-or first-campground, etc.) It looks to me like what these "good people" are doing is dry camping!

The neighbors don't think it's dry!
Looks like too close for comfort.

What they were "most likely" doing is illegal in most jurisdictions. Buying a plot of land inside city limits and driving a camper on to it and calling it "home" while you think about maybe one day building.
What works out at your hunting plot does not work next door in your neighborhood. I would be quite upset if the Clampetts moved in to the vacant lot next door in their 5th wheel and set up house keeping also.

With neighbors like that, I'd sell the property and go someplace else. Who would want to live with such obnoxious busybodies on either side?

I think a (much) taller fence is called for. Life is so much better when neighbors can try to get along. It takes one hot head to screw it up for everyone.

And here I was upset about the neighbors kids bouncing golf balls off our house, and shooting out a trackhoe window!

Plain and simple they are in city limits with city regs.
The regs reported by the reporter say an RV can not be stored, let alone lived in, on a property in which no domestic structure exists.
The people admitted there was no house and they also admitted that they had talked to the city clerk and the city clerk said they could "store" not live in their RV on the property. I'll bet the city clerk didn't ask is there a house on the property in that neighborhood, and I bet they didn't say.
And lets not forget They admitted to sleeping in their SUV. Which is also illegal in most cities.
If I was their neighbor I would be mad to.

That's what sling shots and ice cubes are for.
