New 8528ikws Warranty

We received a 1 year warranty with the purchase of a new 8528ikws.

I heard somewhere that we can get an extended 1 year from forest river? I haven't gone through the paper work provided with the trailer.

I also received an extended warranty offer from the lot where we bought it. It's by XtraRide. It costs $2100 for 6 years with a $100 deductible.

Any thoughts, opinions, or experience on this?

First off, nice looking floorplan! I love the center island in the kitchen.

Second, the second year warranty is only available on some brands and not all. I'm unsure if it's offered on the Flagstaffs. If it is, there will be a 1-page form in your paperwork. Well worth the $150!

Finally, the extended warranty - the price is always negotiable. More times than not, they'll come down quite a bit. Before you sign up for one, read the fine print to see what is excluded. You'd be surprised at how much is excluded.

The extended warranties are usually a win for the company and a loss for the consumer. It's like gambling- the house wins most of the time. But, people do "win" (i.e. they have a claim that's covered and the warranty company pays in repairs more than the consumer did). Are you a gambling man?

The 2nd year warranty is available for Flagstaff models for $150. Type '2nd year warranty' in the green search box above. Click on the first link, then on herks post (the first one) and you'll find the pdf file for it.
