If it's FAA rules you're speaking of,they're no longer called Federal Aviation Rules (FAR). We used that for many years,but back in the 1980's we were told to stop using it in correspondence as some FAA lawyer found that it meant Federal Aquistration Rules.

That's when we started using Code Federal Regulations (CFR) , Title 14 of the CFR's is the CFR title where the FAA rules are found.

I still use FAR some now that I'm retired. The order to change to CFR was issued by someone above my pay grade.

All licenses came in paper with my SSN. . Now they are a numbers on a laminated blue card. Hope nobody finds my old log entries.. Or life lock will be busy

Yep - the paper certificates for all certificate holders were no longer valid after March 31,2013.

The paper ones were superseded by the plastic ones as per 14 CFR 63.15 (d).
