Quick update on Cindy. Back in May, the day we returned from St. Louis and our granddaughter's wedding and college graduation, Cindy was determined to have developed a staph infection. The next day she had to have surgery to remove the expander and treat the infection. While it doesn't threaten her recovery at all, it did cause a major delay in the reconstruction process and the start of radiation.

Today she had surgery to replace the expander and restart that process. She's sore, but the procedure went well. She'll be going through expansion as part of the reconstruction process, and will start radiation in the early part of September.

In the meantime, she has already achieved a full recovery and a completely clean pathology report. We're both looking forward to seeing everyone at the FROG Rally, and appreciate the ongoing prayers, calls, notes, and expressions of concern that she continues to receive.

Some people say that they're no such thing as a miracle. Those people are wrong.

We're very lucky that the "Big C" has not affected us or our descendants. My mother died of breast cancer at 68, m-i-l of a brain tumour.

For those ladies that have had radical mastectomies, you might not be aware of something my wife found through her knitting group. They're called "Knitted Knockers", and are knitted by hand from very soft cotton yarn, then filled with a soft polyfill material. They are a replacement for the "prosthetic" bra-fillers the hospital usually provide.

A friend of ours just has a double mastectomy and DW has made two pairs for her. She said the difference in comfort was amazing.

Praying for a speedy recovery for Cindy and you for strength. We have had several family members go through the chemo treatments, not easy. Prayers for your family,
