I've not done an update recently, so want to let those of you who have been following Cindy's progress what's been happening.
She had a couple of setbacks in the reconstruction process -- nothing at all threatening to her health, thank God, but just some frustrations and delays.
After two failed attempts in reconstruction, we decided to forego that process and move on to radiation (we'd hoped to have that done by the FROG Rally in August.
Following full healing from the extra surgeries caused by the reconstruction issues, Cindy started radiation yesterday (Wednesday, 11/5). There will be 33 treatments in all, every weekday except for Thanksgiving and the day after. If all stays on schedule, she'll finish just before Christmas. The treatment team still says she's looking at a full recovery. The radiation is an extra step to minimize the chance of re-occurrence.
She feels great, looks great, and isn't expecting any complications from the radiation. Unfortunately, the treatment schedule will preclude her being in Louisville for the RVIA dealer show and in Charleston for the Holiday Festival of Lights Rallies. We plan to have her fly down and join me there for Christmas with our son and his family.
Thanks to all who have continued to inquire and to send various expressions of love and support. We appreciate them more than you can possibly know.
