Official forum scoring rules question...
[WARNING: This is not a "serious" post, at least not in the sense that I'm sitting around worrying about this, so don't think I'm madly tormented by such things...I'm just curious.]
Since there is no forum titled Why would anyone think analytically about this?...I guess I'll post this one here and direct it to the posters who report their year-to-date camping totals.
I see a lot of folks posting their total "Days camped in 2012" in their signatures. I read this a lot and began to think about what it represents.
As a weekender, I have always just thought of "nights" camped, (such that the number reported would correspond 1:1 to the nights we reserve and use). However, because I wordsmith for a living, today I found myself wondering if the word "days" might mean something different here at FRF (okay, now you should feel free to consider me at least little tormented).
Nevertheless, here's the question: Last weekend (Memorial Day weekend) I arrived at the campground at 2 p.m. Friday and left around 1 p.m. Monday, staying Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Was that 3 or 4 days camped?
My method would say 3 days. What's your take?
Have a great weekend, whether it be for two or three days!
