Old Radio Shows

Has anyone found old radio shows on line or at different stores. We bought some at Cracker Barrel about 7 or 8 years ago. They were the Abbot and Costello, The Shadow, Burns and Ellen, and several others. Just sitting at the campfire listening was awesome. When we had our pop-up, we would do that all the time. Does anyone do the "Theater of the Mind"?

SiriusXM has Radio Classics which has a lot of old radio shows that we enjoy while on the road.

I am a ham radio operator and listen to short wave on Saturday evenings. I don't have the frequency in front of me, but they play all kinds of old radio shows then. It may be 9.350Mhz, but not sure.

So if you have access to a receiver, let me know and i will get the correct frequency for you.

Is that a receiver for ham radio or will a radio receiver work for our Bose radio....or is that the same thing?

We download podcasts of old radio shows from iTunes. They are free and there is a huge variety. I have about 2000 shows on my iPod. We love the old mystery and horror stuff.

Any radio that will tune 9Mhz. I'm not familiar with Bose, so I can't comment on it. But any radio advertised as a "short wave" radio should do it.

They put on the old mystery shows such as the Shadow and others such as Jack Benny. Great to listen to and remember days gone by.

We were disappointed, when we first came to the US, to find that the only stuff on radio was background music. In the UK, there were comedy shows, plays, classical music, etc., enough that we didn't bother with TV.

The descriptions on this thread suggest we might go looking at radio again.
