Over 50 crowd
Well since (so far) 55% of the responders were 50-100, How about a breakdown in the "Oldsters" group. A youngster started that other poll and most likely figured that we would all be "toast" by now.

When my Dad (now age 93) was in his mid-70's I asked him "At what age do you quit feeling like a kid and start feeling like a grownup?"
He thought for a few minutes and finally said "I'm not sure. I'll let you know when I get there."
That certainly gave me hope for my future!!

Growing old is mandatory.
Growing up is optional.
At 65 that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Middle age is a state of mind, i mean, panic. Or is that mid-life crisis?
When I was young I had these dreams...and slowly they've died in way or another (being a rock star, olympic athlete) and some are still feasible (motorcycle ride across the US and to alaska, sail a boat around the world).
Also, the thought of retirement became more real as the AARP mailings increased.
So I've sorta started a second childhood and started planning for retirement. There is a lot of life/living left - I've done a lot in the past 25 to 30 years and if I have that much quality time left (figure I should be able/willing to get around to 75 or 80 if not longer) I can still get a lot of dreams fulfilled.
So no more 'one day...' and a lot more 'NOW!' is ruling my life.

I have to add my 2 cents and my vote here. I may grow old but I refuse to grow up. Now all I have to do is remember if I am turning 51 or 52 this summer. I stopped counting ages ago and blame the CRS syndrome.

My DH suffers from CRS you two should get together sometime.
That is if either one of you or me for that matter remembers.

No Octogenerians or nonagenerians camping? I find that hard to believe. I saw this guy getting out of his million dollar rig the other day and he could hardly move with a walker. Wait, maybe he was a centenarian.

Have you ever seen that commercial with the girl talking about her parent needing a life because they only just got facebook and only have 12 freinds on it/ cut to parent out hiking and picnicking with friends. I think they are too busy camping to be posting on here. just a thought.
