Started the mod on the electric stab jacks for in front of the axles. Disassembled the whole assy. Measured the 2 x 4 tube and decided to shorten the assy by 6" to keep the motor inside the 70.5" dim of the tube. Will shorten both legs by 6.5" as the tube is only 16" above the ground. Plan on putting the electric control inside the driver side basement. Will take some pictures when I get a little further along with the project.

Leo and the FR techs need to do a little work on it. Runs pretty rough. If only we knew an old engineer with experience with farm equipment...maybe someone who lives in (and just got back to) NC?????

I think I know the NC guy you're speaking of here, but isn't he sort of a grouchy old sore head sometimes - friend of Turbo?

You got most of it right, but being a friend of Turbo? Don't think so! Contrary to most opinions, I am not old enough to be privileged to working on those type engines.

Thanks for fussing up

Like you, I'm not old enough to have ever worked on those type engines either, but I am old enough to remember seeing them power hay thrashers and other pieces of farm equipment - the sight, sound, smell of them plus the hard working farmers keeping them going is something I will never forget.

The only thing I seen a small Hit-and Miss Engine running are Ice Cream Makers at different County Fairs and Flea markets.
