Yeah grayfox, I am excited to see how we love it too! Not only am I curious about how my home will feel, comfort wise in the winter and summer, but in the energy savings especially!
We did the house in 2x6 studs, and used cellulose insulation. The all season room is also well insulated with the cellulose in the walls, spray foam in the ceiling and close cell insulation under its flooring. It is a south facing room, so we wanted to make sure it will be warm in the winter as well as cool in the hot summer.
There are two return vents above the fireplace, so when we burn it, we can turn the thermostat to fan, and blow the warm heat into the rest of the rooms. We have a fresh air intake in the firebox. I am looking forward to seeing how that works out too!
All the canned lights in the ceiling will be LED, so that will be energy efficient as well.

RVC, It sounds like it's going to be very comfortable and very energy efficient as well. The planing and design was well thought out and I'd say you and DH should be excited to see the finished product. I know additionally you'll enjoy living out in the country in the wide open spaces... lots of elbow room and quiet. Sometimes it's hard to explain to our city folk friends why we like it here on The Ridge... they just don't get it.

C'mon spring!

Spent the afternoon planning camping trips for this year. We're already signed up for the tadpole rally and the FROG-tober Amana Colonies rally. If my brother would get the Goshen registration open, we would sign up for that one, too. Today I planned a month-long trip to Tennessee, Alabama, the Florida panhandle, Mississippi, and Arkansas. DW and I are both so ready to hit the road...
