We were only in Beaufort for the day. we had spent a few days at River's End campground on Tybee Island and passed through Beaufort on the way to Charleston. In Charleston, we stayed at James Island County Park. Both campgrounds were great.

DW was looking at River's End this morning and was wondering about it. So you liked it? What about it did you like? Thanks for the info. We are both from James Island. We have reservations there for 17-19 May, will be our first trip there with the RV. Thanks for the info and glad you enjoyed SC!

We just got back from a 20-day camping trip that took us down through Tennessee (Nashville and Chattanooga), Georgia (Macon, Savannah and Tybee Island), South Carolina (Beaufort, Charleston), and into North Carolina (Black Mountain and Asheville) before heading back to cold, rainy Missouri.

RVChick would probably do well to hang out in the islands a while longer.

How's things in Virginia? Spring got to you guys yet?

River's End is within walking distance of the beach and the Tybee Island Lighthouse. Climb to the top of the light for a great view of the mouth of the Savannah River. Visit Ft. Pulaski on the causeway from Tybee to Savannah. For a great meal, try Uncle Bubba's restaurant, also on the causeway heading back toward Savannah. It is owned by Paula Deen's brother and, quite frankly, we liked the food there better than Paula Deen's own signature restaurant, The Lady and Sons, in downtown Savannah.

Kick,

We stayed a couple of nights at River's End on Tybee Island and a couple of nights at Red Gate Farms on the west side of Savannah.

Red Gate Campground

Red Gate Farms was OK, too, but not our favorite.
