Sorry I didn't realize u were close to wiscamp..... or rather forgot you were in Wisconsin. .... sorry.
So where are u located ess?
We are in Powers Lake. It's 8 miles east of Lake Geneva, 9 miles south of Burlington, and 2 miles north of the IL border.
Our mailing address is actually Burlington but I don't know why

We refer to it as a "happy mistake" that we moved here. We sold our Kenosha house real quick and needed to move, this place poped up on a internet search and 11 days later we closed and moved in. Figured we would sit it out a couple years and find a place we really like. Turns out, this is that place.

Good morning, Phroggies.

Took the grandkids to the STL zoo yesterday. 92 degrees and humid, more of the same today, but supposed to be cooler Thursday and Friday.

RVC, l-o-v-e those pork steaks. Lots of people here cook them without any sauce, then put them in a pan of sauce to simmer for a few minutes after coking. They don't burn 'cause it is the sugar in the b-b-q sauce that burns on the grill.

For OC, grayfox, awwall, kicker, RVC, and others who are fortunate enough to have retired (myself included), thought I'd start the day off with a little inspirational message that I just got from a friend of mine at the Lake of the Ozarks...

As we get older, we sometimes begin to doubt our ability to "make a difference" in the world. It is at these times that our hopes are boosted by the remarkable achievements of other "seniors" who have found the courage to take on challenges that would make many of us wither.

Harold Schlumberg is such a person.

THIS IS QUOTED FROM HAROLD:

"I've often been asked, 'What do you do now that you're retired?'

Well...I'm fortunate to have a chemical engineering background and one of the things I enjoy most is converting beer, wine and whisky into urine. It's rewarding, uplifting, satisfying and fulfilling. I do it every day and I really enjoy it."

Harold is an inspiration to us all.

Well phrogs I've decided to refinish this ole 200a single mantle coleman lantern and paint it red "hat" white "center section" and blue "pot" and give it to ms Amy on her birthday as its july 4th !
She loves patriotic items and is oddly fascinated by these old lanterns.
I've been searching for one that was made the same year she was born but alas no luck.
This one is a 1963 vintage and will have to do.
I hope she likes it !
