Phat Phrog's Place

Even'n Phrogs!!
You guys.....
Well, visited DS's school today. He will be starting in the fall,at UNOH. It is a high tech, tech school, with its own NASCAR team(not cup),an NHRA team, and other phun stuff. He is not,at this time, planning to be on the other side of the race wall. His chosen path is,Ag business, and diesel tec. Not flashy, but these kids are being snapped up by company's like, caterpillar, crown lifts,JD,cummins,ford.....On and on,with starting pay, higher than I'll ever see.
Anyway,he has a plan, that in it self, puts him waaay ahead of me,at that age!

Oh , and be safe, hope the storms are not too bad, think they will be here late tonight.

Evening, RB. Good for your son. Everybody says college is a MUST, but a good vocational education, combined with a well-motivated young adult (and it sounds like you have one) is a proven path to success.

Storms just blew through Union a few minutes ago, approaching downtown St. Louis and the Mississippi River right now. Took about 2 hours to get half-way across Missouri, so you may very well get it sometime tomorrow.

The tornado that hit University City (immediately west of the western St. Louis City city limits) this morning was about 30 miles east-northeast of us. No damage here, but tore up U. City.

Congrats to your son RB. Have one going off to college myself. She is a motivated One . She is going to a community college for criminal justice then off to the academy to be a police officer. She is also taking classes to be a paramedic.

I myself never saw a day of college and I do better than a lot of my class mates and I have no college debt.

PhD here - all fancy and scientific like - indeed I can even claim I am a real Rocket Scientist (really, I am! )

You know what? The durn Plumber makes more than I do - at least by the job LOL. So, GOOD ON YOUR SON!

Congratulations! And I think my kids learned as well - DS is soon to be a Critical Care Nurse and DD Will be getting a Criminology Degree with dreams of being a CSI chick LOL.

Storms...so far so good here in North AL...quiet (which is SCARY if you are used to tornado country :roll eyes: ) We are supposed to get smacked just about when we all are getting sound asleep tonight.

Good thing we do not roll out for the weekend in GA until tomorrow!

Thanks gang.
We are obviously proud of him. Think we can pay for most of it as we go,so no real bad debt.
I would like to go and play with some of the toys they have. DW said I can go after we get DS II through his school o choice.
If we can help make them better off than us, we will have done our job!!

Wait...that's nearly 25 feet of snow? I could never live there in the winter...

About 50" currently on the ground. I've been here 45 years and now it's time to spend winters down south.

I can sure agree with that. My next door neighbors daughter (yes girl), got a scholarship from John Deere. They paid for her to get an associate degree, and trained her in tractor repair. She got out and they guaranteed the girl a good paying job. She hasn't been out of a school but over a year, and just bought her own house at 22 years of age.
