That definitely gives it a stronger leg, but is that the weakest link in the setup? Is there a noticable difference in stability with a stronger leg? I was thinking of doing some sort of "criss/cross" arms, or arms going forward. I think the weakest link in these stabilizers lie in the angle braces, but I haven't studied them enough, nor have I done any testing. I can see some benefit from your mod though.

IMO, the legs are the weak link, the strap arms are also a weak point, I took mine off and made new ones out of 3/4 black seamless pipe and heated and smashed the ends flat and bent them on the same angle as the straps. I also reinforced the main channel the whole stab jack assy slides in by adding 2 pcs of 2 x 2 x 1/8" angle 63" long on each side of the channel up 3/4" and skip welded the angles to the sides of the channel and skip welded the angles together on top. I can now lift the rear of the trailer and nothing flexes. The motor will bog down but nothing flexes. I think the legs do a much better job of stabilizing the closer to vertical. I also have homemade front to back stabilizers similar to the JT Strongarms.
The only thing we reinforced on Glenn's was the legs themselves.

Finished Glenn Jurczyk's mods, put the 2 awning locks on and the step support so he is now ready to hit the road back to Clarksville, VA. 30Jul we will meet @ junction of I81 & I77 for the trip to Goshen.

Morning Pondies!! What an amazing morning to wake up with the weather nice and cool! Our construction started this morning for our pole barn! Yeah!! They won't get far, as it is a short week....but come Monday it should get busy up there on the hill! I am told once the foundation is done, it would only take two weeks to put up the pole barn!

Sounds great, then you can move your TH up there and set up inside out of the weather and watch the construction of your new home and practice using your oven.

Mardy, our oldest is 50 yo and retired Air Force, he also hand scrubbed the entire roof of our 5er and then washed the rest of the camper yesterday morning before Glenn got here. Both of our boys are extremely helpful even if I can't get them to wear bibbys. Every one should be lucky enough to have sons like TOWTA and I have. Privileged to have built a race car with them and raced for 4 yrs as a team. Had great success and a lot of fun.
