Chicky, I think we have around 2 dozen in our 4+ acre pond. Put them in about 3-4yrs ago they were about 4-6", now they are 2-3'.

Really! So did you do that also to control those aquatic plants? Are they doing a great job?

We put them in during the original stocking of the pond, just after it was built. We still get some algae bloom that we treat chemically, but the fish usually take care of the other plant life. The are pigs!

RVC e put 15 amure ? don't think I spelled that right, in our 5-7 acre, depends on time of yr. n they were not near enough ! Don't know bout carp, but I'll bet it takes a lot. My 1/4 acre here at home, is bad this yr, last yr it flooded just after the farmer sprayed, n had a pretty big fish kill !

It's beautiful, but what a waste of a beautiful quilt that no doubt took a lot of time to make. Even if it is protected from the weather, the sun will fade it.

The article Turbo sent say the barn quilt is made of painted squares, not cloth.

We also have some TOWTA inherited when mil passed. Hand stitched everyone of them.

I grew up in Upstate NY and there were/are many barns there, but I don't ever remember this being done.

I know what you are speaking of here regarding quilts. My DW used to sew a lot and got the idea to make an quilt. As usual, she did a lot of research on how to do it the right way as well as the custom of them.
She brought a few books on the subject and I browsed though some of them. There are some Very interesting things and dos and donts about them.

On way to table rock lake in Branson mo. Little dark out. No camper this week, just a high end condo with pool and boat slip.

It will be ok, been there more times than I can count. May be the last tour, thinking about selling the 21 foot Triton. It's a beast, still runs 68mph but only used 1 time in 2 years, new cover, new wheel bearings and 4 new Goodyear marathons 225 75 r14's.
