Its hardwired right to the light which is 6" away.
Unfortunately fan only works if light switch is on for bedroom lights.
But when sabre installed the light switch they put it at the stairs going up to the bedroom 6' away from the actual bedroom.
So we leave switch on and turn the lights on and off right at the light.
