We call'em stick bugs here on The Ridge. We have 'em all over the place... very common.

We always called them "walking sticks." Used to see them quite often in the summer, growing up on a farm.

Central air conditioner compressor shorted out and burned up. 17 year old unit, not worth replacing just the compressor. Freon is "burned", too. Never heard of that, but it smells just like burnt transmission fluid. Sooooo, new residential A/C unit going in as soon a they can get it ordered. I really, really didn't need this.....

As we used to say back in our boating days...this will probably be around two "boat units"
(Boat unit = $1,000, as in Break Out Another Thousand)
