Man what a nightmare!
I started working on getting my dish going about 830 and i should have been watching tv about 845 !
Wel I'm just now downloading the program guide if any of you are familiar with dish network. ... "its the last step"
After switching all my cables out for known good ones I found a bad cable....
Geeeez all this work for a little creature comfort.

Loaded up and ready to leave for Texas tomorrow morning. Apparently, the screws that hold the gas strut to the front door of the tt have been loose and wobbling around in the holes for some time. All 3 fell out tonight when I started to shut the door, leaving some ragged-ass holes in the top, outside of the door.
Wish I had noticed that in Goshen...probably would have just put a new door on and been done with it. Now, gotta go through the dealer. SHOULD be under warranty, but how will they patch up the existing holes and re-drill new ones, in an aluminum-clad door? Hmmmm

Turbs, what kind of antenna are you using for your Dish in the 5er? We have Dish Network at home, and I'm thinking about taking one of our receivers from home and buying a Tailgater. Do the automatic-locating antennas really work like they are advertised?

I have a wingard carry out and it works flawlessly!
I previously used my dish and a worklight tripod and if there was a clear view of the southern sky I could get it aimed manually in about 10 minutes or less.
With the wingard carry out I set it on the ground and plug it in.
Let it do it's thing for about 4 minutes and then enjoy sat. Tv.
I can't imagine that the tailgater is much different.
I do know that there's only one maybe two receivers compatible with a tailgater.
The wingard you can use any receiver.

Morning Phrogs! Looks like no camping for me this weekend The kids are all sick with colds. Probably has something to do with the 50 degree changes in temperature we've had lately. uggghhh. Oh well, maybe I can get caught up a little on all this work. All the phrogs who are lucky enough to go this weekend, be safe traveling.

Capt,
I've had the Tailgater for about 2 months and on 3 camping trips. It has worked flawlessly as well. Turbs is right you need a Vip211k receiver. Being Dish customer, I just called them and switched one of my existing receivers for it.
Morning Frogs!

Thanks, BombDoc. Since we didn't get "The Hopper" when we got our Dish system, I think both (I'm sure at least 1) of our receivers are/is a Vip211k. I found a new-in-the-box Tailgater on ebay on a "buy it now or best offer" deal. The buy-it-now price was $349, which I've seen a number of places, including recently on sale at Camping World. I'm wondering if I could get it at a "best offer" of about $299.99...that would be sweet.

I bought a Vue Cube from a member here. It's the same as the tailgater antenna. I just switched from Directv to Dish on Wed. This week so I could get HD programming in the camper. Problem is, the installer forgot to install the lnb on my dish to run thr 211k when its at my house.
they installed the Hopper and all the joeys but not the line for the other reciever
oh well, guess I needed to spend some time on the phone today.........
Turbs, what's the dish model that you have?

I have a vip 612 http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp...u=753960009964
Mine has a uhf antenna that way the remote doesn't need to see receiver to control it , that way I can put my receiver in the basement.
I can record a program and watch another live or record two programs at once and watch a previously recorded program.
Let me know if I can help further.

I took the screws out of mine when new and replaced with 3/16" pop rivets and they are still tight after all this time.
