Good morning Phroggie! Real foggy at The Farm this morning! 56 now but will get to 81 later! Not bad!
Youroo you sure look like you are having a great time out there camping!
Turbs you are up really considering how late you got there! Love the calm water on the lake!! Tell Amy we said hey! We chatted with daddy on the phone last night! I sure miss everyone!!
Capt'n! Is there a big turn out for the Texas rally? What a meticulous CG!
Well we went yesterday to pick out all the outer doors and windows for the new house! Anderson 200 series! We ended up with 14 windows, and 7 French doors! That's not counting any interior doors. I sure hope the contractors discount for the windows and doors is a good one, compared to just going in and ordering like a replacement door! The crew is here today to install the floor beams and joists!
I hope all you Phrogs have a wonderful day!
Oh....congrats to the STL Cards for winning the NLDS!

TOWTA now has a new windshield and can drive the car if she wants. It has a 1:10 "drive away time". The man was fast, efficient and very professional. Safelite AutoGlass.

They advertise quite a bit on our TV channels - so your damage exceeded the limits for a repair?

So that's the damage limit criteria they use
Did they use what I'm calling a "Fixture" to help line up the new windshield into the frame?
They show it briefly on their commercial.

He sure did, stuck a dual suction cup device on the drivers door and 5 on the windshield, one had a telescoping articulated rod on it which he placed in a saddle that was on the drivers door glass and just pivoted the windshield around and set it in place on the passenger side, went to the drivers side, removed the rod and set the windshield in place. Pressed it down all around, taped it up to the roof to hold it in place and started putting things back together. They sure have a neat way of cutting the glue that holds it in. Stick a square sided wire down thru a slit they make at the bottom of the windshield, pull it out and go completely around the edge, put one end on a spool with a ratchet on the inside and just start ratcheting the wire in. Took about 2 minutes.

I figured they had to attach the device to the vehicle somehow. I worked in a collusion shop many years ago while in High School and back then a lot of windshields had those ugly black rubber gaskets holding them in and you installed a cord in the channel to pull the gasket up onto the windshield.
Things sure have changed.

He put a new rubber type gasket on the top of the windshield in addition to running a 1-1/2" tall, triangular ribbed bead of glue completely around the mounting surface. Neat head on the battery powered caulking gun.
