I haven't done it, but don't know why you couldn't put garden mat down first. It would allow porch to breathe, yet keep bugs out.

Dilemma
Just finished the last mod to the 5er which was a TOWTA request/demand and that was a small shelf for our phones while charging. She didn't want them on the kitchen counter for fear of splashing water on them. It doesn't match very well, but she put her stamp of approval on it, so it's finished. At least if she changes her other mind, I can remove it with no scars left to the cabinet.
Now the real dilemma: I can't think of anything else to mod/change or add and still have 26 days left before we leave for FL.

We stapled window screen down across the porch joists before laying down the decking. Keeps the bugs out and helps in retrieving small stuff like Legos when dropped. I wish composite decking was available when we built back in '89. I know it's expensive but believe me it's worth it considering the fact there is no power washing and resealing every couple years. We have just shy of 1100 sq. ft. of decking and it's a job I dread. Your place is really looking great!

OC The Mod looks good
RVC Home Pics looks good thanks for the PIC. Composite deck is the way to go. I am looking to rebuild our old salt treated Deck with Composite material.

I like the idea of stapling window screen before laying down the decking!
1100 sq ft huh? Wow!! I am almost afraid to hear how much we need to cover it, but I agree that composite will be the best way to go! Since the porch is screened and covered, it will last even longer than being exposed to the direct sun. I am also trying to decide on the all season room flooring. I am thinking along the lines of carpet tiles. They can be replaced individually if needed. The all season room is 23' long x 10' deep.

RVC, take a look at SISAL to cover the floor in your all-season room...maybe area rugs instead of completely covering the floor. "Natural" look, and almost maintenance free.

Those are beautiful Capt'n! I want to cover the entire area though, because there are 4 French doors that will open into that room. One is the front door to the house, then the second is another to take you outside off the porch. Then there are french doors on each side of the all season room, that let you open to the rest of the porch.

First two looked like they went up pretty easily, third one was pretty squirrely. Be careful out there. I couldn't see it, but do your guys tie a line on one end to kind of control the swing and move the truss into place from the ground?
