Sad news from Arkansas, a very dear friend of many years passed on late yesterday evening. Celebrated his 90th birthday Sat in the hospital. We'll be leaving sometime tomorrow to attend his funeral.

Why, yes, that was our granddaughter Kate who was selected Prom Queen last week. Thanks for asking!
Two days later she signed her academic letter of intent, accepting a scholarship to college. The high school librarian had asked why the student athletes always got the publicity for signing letters of intent, and the student academics didn't get that kind of recognition, so this year Collinsville, IL High School had its first Academic Signing Day. Great idea, IMHO.
