I guess my brain didn’t keep up with the times and is still stuck in the 60’s. I seem to remember refueling stops at Hawaii and Wake Island.

I figured there must be a photography section of this site. I've been a hobbyist for years.

In the last year I've sold off most of my camera equipment and recently ordered a point and shoot.

This thread doesn't get much action, i see. Oh, and here's a picture of a squirrel on a fence.

I have a question for anyone familiar...... I have 5 or so 35mm 400 color and 1 roll of B&W. Any suggestions to home developing? Kits? Links for a how to website?
These rolls are every bit of 20+ years old but were stored in a cool dry place.
Thanks for any direction.

Color developing is very involved and I would never suggest it just to develop some old rolls, send them in. B&W is much easier but again for one roll I would send it in.

I am sure there are still places doing film if the local drug/department store can't send them to a lab I am sure a camera store can.

I remember years ago I use to send them in to Clark. I'll look into it further.
My concern is these rolls, probably closer to 25 years old, are from my pre-adult years and I have no idea what's on them so I wanted to develop myself for privacy. Maybe I'm overly concerned for nothing.

It's not worth trying this on your own. Send it off. Those folks have seen everything.

Lol. I bet they have. Thanks. I guess there is no sense of me possibly destroying my recorded memories.

I should get the ol Minolta 7000 out but it is too easy with a smartphone. It's crazy that all these were taken with a camera smaller than a dime!

Cool pics.
This I think was taken with a Nikon Df and a long zoom.

I'm a retired newspaper photographer...

When it comes to camera I am a mut...

By that I mean I have a lot of cameras from a bunch of different brands.

Here are a couple from where I am at right now in southwestern New Mexico!

First two taken with two different Olympus mirrorless cameras in the last couple of weeks and the third one from a Canon Rebel T3i with a cheap $200 Tamron lense that I took here two years ago:

Hey guys. Planning a big trip to Alaska interior in September. Wife has a Canon rebel digital but only a 1g storage card. I'd like to find an adapter that fits the camera slot but uses an SD card instead of the big card that came with it. Do any of you use an SD adapter and which one?

Does it use a CF card? Like a 1.5 x 1.5 " squareish thing? I thought all the rebels used SD cards but I guess depending on the age of the camera..

Those CF (Compact flash) to SD card adapters are getting a little harder to find these days.

Of course, so are compact flash cards.

You really would be better off finding a compact flash card as those adapters were problematic at best.

The smallest CF card available now is an 8GB card...running around $30 in most camera stores.

You shouldn't need anything larger than 8GB with any Rebel that uses CF cards.

The original Canon Digital Rebel used CF cards...as did the Rebel XT and XTi.

From the Rebel XSi to present Canon switched to SD cards.

Yes those adapters are also NOTORIOUSLY unreliable as well, you might not even realize they are not saving to the SD card until the shot is gone... CF cards are still used by many of the full frame "professional" cameras so I'd either get a FEW larger sized CF cards or consider looking for a used newer Rebel that uses an SD card esp if this is a once and a live trip!

After I sent that I remembered they were out probably before and SD card even existed (for the most part).

One thing in my previous two posts that I didn't mention is that I also just retired in February from 16 years selling cameras in a camera store...not Best Buy!

Just thought I'd mention that in case anyone has questions about different cameras.

The problem with any digital camera is that after 5-6 years, the chances of getting them fixed is very slim.

Just like LCD/LED TV's...cheaper to buy a new one than to get them fixed!

By the buy...if you can't find any CF cards I can give you a link to the store where I worked in Denver...

They still carry a lot of CF cards!

CF cards are going away, however...

Five years from now you won't be able to buy them anymore...

Canon and Nikon are the only two camera makers still using them in some high end models, but both have come out with new cards to replace CF.

Canon is going to CFast cards...and Nikon is switching to XQD cards!

Good information y'all. Thanks. Yes it's a 1G compact flash card. DW will fill that in the first few days. I have a multi card reader and was wondering if I could download the pictures from the CF to a 32G SD card. Got to play with it and it to see if it works.

I would just go with this 32G CF card. https://www.ebay.com/itm/SanDisk-120...ss!49437!US!-1

Before you buy a large CF card, make sure the camera can address it. Many of the early cameras that used CF cards have a max size limit on what they can address. If you are taking a laptop with USB get an multicard adapter and download her CF card daily to a large SD card or small external HD. Be sure to take a second battery as you may need it .

I wouldn't go with much more than an 8GB card...

I think a 32GB card will work in that camera, but it may only recognize and use 8 to 16GB.
