They are some great shots Glenn, great work. The Black Canyon is always somewhere I have wanted to visit Canonman, I'm loving those shots too. They have rekindled my wanting to go there even more, maybe I'll make it over that way next year. It's awe inspiring enough on film, I bet the reality is something else.

Thanks Kenny, Black Canyon is a very different place from most of the surrounding area. Very impressive early morning and late afternoon.
When you're in the area, there is another very unique place a little off the beaten path. Hovenweep National Monument. Here is image from an evening shoot from this past month. DW and I were very impressed with the whole area. We can highly recommend a trip to SW Colorado.

I love a blue sky that looks like that! The whole area looks amazing, I'll be sure to check it out sometime. Thanks for the tip.

It has been almost 3 weeks since anyone has posted anything here, so I'll throw in a few recent photographs. I still have much to learn about photography, but I have improved and I liked these.

The Sky Train Terminal for Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport:

Sunset at a local park a couple of weeks ago:

Arizona's Liberty Bell. Many are not aware, but in 1950 fifty-five replica Liberty Bells were cast. One for each state, territory and the District of Columbia. Missouri received two, one for the capital and another for the Truman Library. I'm guessing that Truman being president during the project had something to do with the Truman Library receiving one, but that is of course just a guess on my part.

Arizona's is displayed at the original capital building which is now the Arizona Capital Building Museum:

This is how long it has been, since we took is seriously. Nice old AE1 with lots of stuff we collected over the yrs.
The Nikon is a D 3200 with standard 18-55 to start with.is her Christmas gift, but I am certain, both of us will enjoy playing with it.
Now that our phones have ok built in cameras, I have one with me most of the time, all be it very limited. It takes some nice shots.
This is just an I phone shot.or twoClick image for larger version

This time of year, I don't take many landscape pix. To cold and too busy around here. I'm usually very busy with HS sports. Here's one of my boy.

I remember a conversation on this thread a while back about seeing bald Eagles and photo opportunities. Thought I would throw this out there for everyone and anyone that might be interested in coming into the area. I thought about this as I started seeing Eagles today.....

Sanibel Island, FL

We spent some time over Christmas on sunny (and warm) Sanibel Island, FL .

Now that I'm back in frigid WI, here are just a few pics to share during these cold days (its going to hit -20 tomorrow )

The first is a sunrise picture on Bowman's Beach just after the sun started coming up. Its the light off the clouds that caught my attention and it only lasted a few minutes before it lost a little bit of a "3d" effect for me.

The second is another day about 45 minutes after sunrise while I was walking back from the beach.

The third is the obligatory palm tree/sunset silhouette.

Stay warm everyone!
