Mind you, there's failures stored in the camera going back to November.

Canon told me today, sorry, but it's going to be $233.92 just to open it up for diag, if repair fits under that there won't be any more charges but it could go up from there.

This after I called chasing them down. Yes, they were too good to call me.

Hacked? Oh yeah, I'm hacked.

Ok I was kidding (well, sorta...I have issues with Canon we can chat about over a adult beverage at Goshen...my treat)

Sorry to hear about this my friend...I would have hoped better from them

My 1DX? That I had to financially hang myself for last year? 58,000 clicks now (That 12FPS can be a killer.) but at 25,000 cycles it threw the first error.

I should have sent it in right off I guess. Canon will goodwill two months past warranty, I guess two months and three weeks is too much to ask.

Warranty is warranty, but I can't help but be upset especially since dude told me in March that it could be a card error and see if I could sort that out. Took the card out of rotation, a busy spring, two months and 20,000 clicks later I thought it was figured out. I was wrong.

In six years I've spent over $16,000 on Canon gear. Now I wonder how smart that was.

Yes, I'm whining. But at this price point you'd think they could take care of a known problem.

I'm with you Bro - I spent about $9K back in the 70s on canon gear only to have them change the lens mounts and obsolete all my stuff!!! Grrrr sold their POS system and moved to Nikon and have never looked back. Shoot I just ebay'ed a Nikon D60 with over 30K shots and got $175!

Got gifted some C 1965
Lenses last year guess what? They fit my D7100!

Yeah I am a Nikon boy now!

You must be speaking of the change to the FD mount. Somewhere in the late 80's they went with the EF series so it's happened twice.

I just have the worst luck. You would know it, the moment I get myself paid out of credit card debt (But not replenished my cash reserve from paying it off.) this happens. While I'm -->.<-- that close to getting media creds to the NHRA race at Bristol. I'm DYING to go to Bristol. I told them to fix the friggin thing, though I am penning a........sternly worded........letter to the president of Canon N America expressing my concern over this and if it can't be warrantied to explain to me why.

Sometimes Business trips have some downtime. That would be today. We hiked the Garden of the Gods Bretag trail and when we got back to the central area just in time for sunset on Kissing Camel Rock. Every day for @ 10 min in May-Jun, the Sun sets right over the opening below the Kissing Camels. Got there in time to get this shot.

Excellent shot! I've developed a real affinity for silhouette shots recently.

The iPhone, much to my chagrin, has an excellent camera. I've got a 5S and I'm really impressed with the camera it has and the range it can capture. Good burst mode also.

Did you hear about the journalist that covered the Olympics strictly with an iPhone? Photos, articles and all.

Ok, my precious is back in my grubby little hands. Total repair was $190, I'm grumbling with Canon NA about that since it was 22 days out of warranty.

They replaced the main circuit board and I was told the focus assembly though that's not listed on the form. Fresh battery and clean memory card and last night I beat on it like it owed me money. I just sat in my office with it in burst mode and rattled off 1,137 photos. So far so good and it is nice to have it back in my hands.

More testing tonight, real world this time. HS basketball camp.
