While not the best picture, it gets one thinking when it is a mile from your house!
It was about 4 miles away when this picture was taken.
One of two F5s that day, about 10 miles apart.

Dear Greyfox:
If your camera has a little blue SD card in it, the pictures are on there. Plug the SD card into your computer or printer and you'll see your pictures on your screen. Once you have them on your computer, you can put or send them anywhere you want. Folder, e-mail, and photo software programs where you can alter the picture to suit your needs. If your camera takes only film then when you get the pictures developed, ask the person behind the counter to put the pictures on a CD and you can do what I suggested above. You can also ask for actual pictures and then take the film strips back to the store and have them put on a CD. (If the person behind the counter is real helpful, you can select what pictures to put on the CD, if you didn't want them all on there.)
Hope this helps and if you need any more help, feel free to PM me and I'll see what I can help you with.
Jim

Good advice, Jim.

Grayfox, sorry I missed your question yesterday but I think Jim just about covered it. When attaching the photo into your post, you will see a paper clip icon used to download up to 4 or 5 files. They need to be fairly small @ about 50kbs for a jpeg.

Here's a link to some more indepth instruction... How to add photos to a post. Scroll down to post #7.

Dear MTNGuy:
I too would love to have a macro lens but the price is very prohibitive. A good macro lens costs as much as a good DSLR. One alternative is to try a +2 or +4 screw on lens. They look like filters and you screw them on the same way. Hint: If you use a skylight or haze filter, take them off before you screw on the + lenses. Sharper images. Also, you might have to manually focus but the in focus/out of focus indicators will help you. A tripod is a must!

And the result.
The house was actually missed by the main funnel, if you can believe that.
The pile of concrete in the field was the base of a steel grain bin. The tornado lifted the whole bin up, concrete and all, shredded the steel into pieces, and dropped the concrete 200 yards from where they were.
It was very humbling to walk among the devastation.
Amazingly, no one was hurt in either tornado, even though the other F5 went right through a town.

I just bought myself an early birthday present a Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18 MP Digital SLR Camera (with EF-S 18-55 mm IS II Lens) and EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens Bundle
I signed take a 4 hrs SLR camera class at a photography school near here and been reading books on using SLR cameras to learn as much about using the camera.

Congrats on the new camera !! I have the T1i, and my Rebel is a great little camera.

I took a local course, and it really helped me understand the camera better.....especially white balance.

Now go buy yourself a 430EX II (don't get anything less) and learn to use it wirelessly and you'll open up a whole new world. Also it's worth the cost to get Understanding Exposure by Brian Peterson if you don't already have it.
