pics from android phone to forums.

Well, I have finally reached the 21st century. I purchased a Samsung s7 smart phone. My kids say that I am not ready for a smart phone ( that's another discussion ). Can I transfer pics taken with the smart phone and post them on this web site? If so HOW??. I may still keep my old bag phone in service just in case ( just kidding ) I have researched this on the internet and I am unable to get a clear understanding, other than it needs to go on a computer first then they transfer to the web site??? I am sure someone here can dummy it down so I can understand. thanks for any help..I find it hard to believe that the pics cannot be transferred right to the web site.

There is a photobucket app available for the android based systems. I don't have a clue about that OS (actually, tried it and found it way too hard for me to use). It's probably similar to their iPhone/iPad app and it's really simple to use.

I do it the hard way.

I hard wire the phone to my laptop which reads the Moto-X as external storage.

I then use the "browse" feature of my Photo album to move the IMG to my album.

I to use a Galaxy and use the App available from Google Playstore. SEE PHOTO 1
After you have the App follow below.
Click the menu boxes up top right. A drop down box will appear.
Click attach picture. PHOTO 2
Pick the source on your phone to get the picture from such as Gallery or Camera to take a picture. PHOTO 3
Your phone should open your photo albums. From there just pick the picture you want to post.
Once you chose a picture, the screen will show the picture. If it's correct hit the word Attachment in the upper right corner of the screen. PHOTO 4
Now the picture is attached to your post and should be shown below.

It's a lot easier after you do it a couple of times. Hope this helps.

Send a message via Yahoo to bob caldwell
On a Motorola Android Maxx and using the 2 apps Turbs suggested, do your text to the post, look for the paper clip, click on it, will take you to your Gallery, click on it, the pics come up, scroll to find the one you want, another paper clip comes up, tap it, and arrow appears (send) and tap it...Tapatalk is the easiest way to attach a pic...

The thing everybody is leaving out is photo size. If you have your phone's camera set to take photos larger than 640x480, the pictures you upload directly to the forum will be too large. Any photos you intend to upload will need to be resized first, then uploaded. It is much easier to open a Photobucket account and install their app to your phone. Then all you have to do is upload your photos to Photobucket and link to them on the forum. The link displays as a thumbnail. When a reader clicks on the thumbnail they get to see the large version in all it's full size glory, such as 1024x768. Personally, I hate clicking on a thumbnail that opens to a photo that is the same size as the thumbnail. I like big pictures.

Doing it the way I described were all large photos 1080x1920. They automatically resize when uploaded.

Thanks for the responses, I tried a post earlier from the cell phone the text went through ( although a little sloppy, I have to many thumbs for texting ) however the pics did not come up. It would appear that there is a function on the forrest river app for posting pics from your gallery, I will have to study it further, I will keep trying till I get it. Thanks again.
