poor fuel milage while towing my new Crusader

Put them on the sides and top of our 08 Flagstaff 831 RLSS and it significantly reduced the semi's effect on causing sway by at least 80%-90%. They are a little pricey.

Whay do they do? Just help take turbulence out of the air?

I pull with a Powerstroke F250 a 21' Flagstaff at 4500 gross trailer weight at 12 mpg. I average better then 18 mpg without pulling. I bought a 5th wheeler with gross weight at 12200 lbs and now get 11-12 mph. The 21' trailer was originally pulled with a 6 cylinder Honda Pilot at 8-9 mpg.

I don't know the answer to this I got a bigger trailer and my mileage went up to 10 from 9. Expected it to go down, wondering if there was brake drag on old trailer or some other drag causing it to be about the same as one 2000 lbs heavier and 6 ft longer.

They build boats with longer hulls because it reduces drag. I would assume the same thing applies to trailers.
