Great news! Any progress is a motivating sign...I went back to work today for the first time in seven weeks since my hip replacement. It seemed like a long day, but at least day one is over. Keep up the good work, your day will come too!

Good news to report. I walked today for the first time with a walker. Twice across the gym and twice through the parallel bars. I am so excited that all the prayers for me are being answered. God is so good to me. Please keep the prayers coming. I still have a long road ahead of me.

I don't believe in any deities, but I hope the best for you and that you have great doctors and scientists on your side.

You're doing well Charlie. Just wait until the therapists do strength training on those muscles you haven't used in a long time.... It's hell my friend, but well worth the pain in the long run. Suck it up and think long term results. Good luck!
Oh hey, BTW, my daughter's name is SHERI. Spelled the same way. Dammit, I thought we were being original. Oh well, great minds think alike.

Looks like April 1st is my date for going home. Everything is going great, hopefully this date won't change.

Charlie and Sheri:
i just came across this thread. I HAD to go back to the original post, and see the remarkable improvement you have made. From my own experience I know that prayers of others strengthens us immeasurably. Congratulations on your progress. You are now on my prayer list, as I join your chain of prayer warriors. We are warriors because you are in a fight - we're not gonna let you lose this battle.

Charlie this is great news! Having date goals is great for recovery.

Once you're home you need to book a camp site near by, then work toward MAKING that trip.

I'll have home therapy for a while to help me walk better and hopefully get better use of my hands. Out patient therapy after that. Driveway camping will be my goal for now.

Driveway camping is great, too. We pull our shades and imagine we are anywhere we've ever wanted to be. Tonight the Canadian Rockies, tomorrow night the Florida 'glades. After that... who knows, but we'll be THERE!
